SQUAREPUSHER
Stereotype (remastered)
Squarepusher's second EP 'Stereotype' captures Tom Jenkinson in his formative years, predating his landmark 1996 Rephlex debut. Originally a fast-paced cassette of six breakbeat and acid-driven tracks, this release documents his early mastery of drum & bass production. The standout 'O'Brien' showcases a distinctive drill-and-dancehall rhythm that set it apart from contemporary work, revealing Jenkinson's willingness to explore unconventional rhythmic territory before achieving wider recognition.
