Collaborations bring out the best in artists when done right. This EP merges the sounds of Sub Basics and Pugilist—two producers connected through shared circles and a DIY ethos. Formed over five years from initial stems in 2020, the project combines the best of both their production styles.
Four hypnotic, rolling bass music tracks at 130 BPM blend broken and deep techno, breakbeat, and house influences. "20-25" opens with crunchy broken beats, lush pads, and dubbed bongos. "Strings" layers repetitive grooves with synthetic percussion and evolving atmospherics. The title track balances delicate melodies with thunderous kicks and sub bass weight. "Depth Charge" closes with an eight-minute dubby roller—a slow burner with intricate rhythms and hypnotic pads.
